A total of £1,189.83 was raised for the Borders Search & Rescue charity and a letter of thanks from them is on its way. Isobel said she is happy to pass everything over to Kim. The signatories are to be changed and an online form can be completed and taken to the bank asap. Two signatures required on each cheque
Bridge membership is now due; Charlie and Isobel will pay this from hall funds.
Maxton Meets – on February 8th the Maxton nominated charity for 2015 – Border Search and Rescue – gave an excellent illustrated talk on the work they do, this was a well-attended meeting, very much enjoyed by all.
Maxton Meets – An audio visual event by Well Road Productions of Eckford, celebrating the life of Border poet W H Ogilvie will be given on Monday 14th March
Nothing – Charlie indicated he is happy to keep this on.
No problems – Eileen mentions the large amounts of rubbish everywhere, she will write to the Community Council re this.
Very quiet – Maxton is now the only association left, Charlie will be the contact.
It was agreed to have a ‘Pub Night’ before Tom and Isobel leave, date to be arranged.
Charity for the year is still to be decided, Charlie has a list of all previous charities sponsored. Gavin wondered if the group could collect as a charity.
Ideas for future events should be brought to the next meeting.
Geoff thanked the outgoing Committee for ‘all their unstinting, unheralded and mostly unpraised hard work over the past years, which means that the hall is in sound physical and financial state’. They were accorded a hearty round of applause.
The date of the next meeting is Monday 4th April.
The meeting was then closed.
