Minutes of Maxton 21 Meeting held on Tuesday 12th January 2016

Present Jimmy, Janet, Charlie, Elvira, Isobel, Eileen, Ron, Douglas, Gavin, Geoff and Rhona.

Treasurer’s Report
Isobel presented an update to the accounts as of 31st December 2015.
The Maxton 21 accounts stand at £8405.22. The Charity account at £1028.47. A cheque for this amount will be presented at the Maxton Meets BSARU on Monday 8th February.

Past Events
Other than information contained in the annual report, there was nothing further to add.

Future Events
Monday 8th February
Maxton Meets BSARU
in Maxton Village Hall at 7.30pm. Kevin will receive the cheque as our “Charity for 2015” at that meeting. All welcome to come along, as always. Jimmy and Janet have offered to provide the refreshments.

Monday 14th March:
Well Road Productions, ‘W. H. Ogilvie’ in Maxton Village Hall at 7.30pm.
An audio-visual presentation on the Borders poet Will Ogilvie by a community-based company promoting the history, culture and heritage of the Scottish Borders.
All welcome to come along, as always.

Monday 11th April:
Diane Bennett, ‘Tweed Valley Osprey Project’ in Maxton Village Hall at 7.30pm.
An illustrated talk on a local Forestry Commission initiative that supports these spectacular birds.
All welcome to come along, as always.

Hall Report:
Pinboard for Hallway: Costed and will be agreed once the future of the Hall has been decided.

Web Site:
Nothing to report

Neighbourhood Watch:
Nothing to report – all quiet

HMS MAXTON:
As we are the last live village affiliation, Dave and Joe, our contacts, are still in discussions with the TCA about the situation. It has been agreed that we will continue to get one copy of “Ton Talk”, but it is not for public display.

Date of Next Meeting
It has been agreed that there will be a meeting to assess progress and to see whether Trustees for the Registered Charity status have been found on Tuesday 9th February at 7.30pm in Maxton Village Hall.
In the meantime, Gavin will put details of the situation regarding the future of the Hall on Facebook to try to create some interest within the community.
