Previous Minutes:
The minutes of the meeting of 18th August were agreed to be an accurate record.

Treasurer’s Report:
Isobel presented the summary of accounts showing a balance of £8244.63 with £1032.51 in the charity account.

Past Events:
Maxton Meets Dr Chris Bowles. Excellent talk, much enjoyed by those present. Wide ranging, leaving possibility of more localised talks at a later date. Thanks to Chris.

Future Events:
Monday 12th October - Maxton Meets Felicity Bristow. Maxton Village Hall at 7.30pm.
Charlie to lay out hall and arrange teas.
Wednesday 21st October The Bridge – CBFVH Meeting at Maxton Village Hall. 8pm. All welcome to come along to see the work of this invaluable support group. Jimmy and Janet to do teas.
Saturday 31st October - Hallowe’en Night Party for all ages with games, music and a fun quiz. BYO food and drink.
Tom arranging entertainment – planning meeting on Tuesday 27th October at 7.30pm.
Monday 9th November - Maxton Meets Mark Douglas. Maxton Village Hall at 7.30pm
Sunday 13th December – Parish Get Together. Maxton Village Hall at 3pm. Festive cheer and nibbles. BYO. All ages welcome.
Sunday 20th December Village Carol Singing - Meet in Car Park at 6.30pm. Bring torch or lantern. Carol sheets provided. Clothing appropriate to weather and occasion. Collection to - “Maxton 21 Charity for 2015” – Border Search & Rescue.
Hogmanay Thursday 31st December – Isobel to contact Steve.

Hall Report:
Gas Heaters serviced 6th October .
Pin Boarding Attempt to get SBC to supply pin boarding for the entrance area unsuccessful. Will get G Oliver to supply and fit.
Change to law regarding Water Supply and exemption scheme.
Currently we are exempt from the payment of water charges. However, exemption will, after March 2016, only apply to registered Charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs. As we are neither, consideration will have to be given to the alteration of our status to that of a Registered Charity, something which we deliberately did not become when we were constituted as Maxton 2000. Advice will be sought from The Bridge on the way ahead.

Nothing to report.

Neighbourhood Watch:
Quiet within the village and immediate area. Usual problems with thefts from cars parked at local beauty spots.

HMS MAXTON:
Dave and Joe with Heather and Liz came to visit. Still happy to continue the link with the village.
