Previous Minutes: The minutes of the meeting held on 25th August were accepted as an accurate record.

Treasurer’s Report: The Treasurer presented the figures for the recent transactions. The Maxton 21 account stands at £11,139.49 including £899.17 in the Charity Fund.

Past Events:
Maxton meets Tom Veitch:
Tom’s illustrated talk on his 500 mile walk was greeted with keen interest by the 30 people who came. Thanks to Tom for his efforts both here and in Spain. A letter of thanks for the on-line monies has been received from Gordon Jackson of Borders Holiday Group.

Future Events:
Sunday 14th December - Parish Get-together

Maxton Village Hall at 3pm. Festive cheer and nibbles. BYO.
All ages welcome.

Sunday 21st December – Carol Singing
Meet in Car Park at 6.30pm. Bring torch or lantern. Carol sheets provided. Clothing appropriate to weather and occasion.
Collection to - “Maxton 21 Charity for 2014” - Borders Holiday Group.

Wednesday 31st December - Hogmanay Ceilidh with Steve and Isobel
Maxton Village Hall 7.30pm for 8pm.
£5 plus a plate of food.

Burns Supper – catering still a real problem – Eileen to chat with SBC Catering to talk over possibilities before any decision is made.

Hall Report:
Douglas is still trying to fix dates for redecoration – now probably January.
Hall will need to be cleared and curtains taken down.
Annual Gas Inspection completed.
Licences for Public Music Performances – forms completed and sent off.

Neighbourhood Watch:
Nothing to report

Visit by Dave and Joe postponed as Dave’s wife, Heather, has had to have a hip replacement after an accident.

Any Other Business:
Rural Parliament.
Douglas will attend a meeting of the Rural Parliament at Oban in November as a representative of Maxton 21. He will report back on anything of benefit to the group afterwards. No cost involved.

Christmas Card: Charlie to approach Felicity about producing a card for all households in the Parish with the dates of events highlighted.

Prize Draw for Hamper. Eileen has kindly offered to do this again as a Fund Raiser for our Charity.

Donation from Denholm Folk Club We thank the members of Denholm Folk Club for their kind donation of £45.07 to our “Charity for 2014” Borders Holiday Group.

The next meeting of Maxton 21 will be held on Monday 8th December in Maxton Village Hall at 7.30pm.
