Maxton Burns' Supper 2013

Last evening saw 35 people intent on enjoying the 2013 Maxton Burns' Supper, and was it enjoyable.
After the Selkirk Grace, by Elvira Denoon and the Toast to the Haggis by Thomson Irvine, the meal was served.

Grant Lees, a born and bred Maxtonian and a regular speaker and singer at such functions, gave the Immortal Memory.

Barrie Cash and his wife Trudy, at their first ever Burns' Supper, gave the Toast to the Lasses and the Reply like seasoned veterans.

After "Scots Wha Hae" and "Ae Fond Kiss", sung by all present, the evening was handed over to Derek Inglis and his team of singers and musicians - Joyce, Bernie, Ann and Isobel, who thoroughly entertained us all.

Grant gave us "To a Mouse" with memories of his own experiences of Maxton mice for good measure.

Derek was just Derek, full of fun and nonsense as always, as he gave us "Tam o' Shanter" "Holy Willie's Prayer" and "Willie Wassle" in his own inimitable style.

Maxton 21 thanks all of the performers, all who came along and all who, seen and unseen, made the Maxton Burns' Supper 2013 possible.
