Bobby gave a fascinating and informative account of his wife's family links to the upper Teviot Valley and the relationship of that area to people of note, many of whom have left songs and poems which we still know today. James Thomson who wrote “Star o’ Rabbie Burns” is one.
His search for the Teviot Stone, and the depopulation of the area which he found during his scouring of the area, were a rare insight into the changing way of life of the early 20th century in the landscape beyond Hawick.
Thanks to Bobby and his good lady for coming and entertaining us so well.
