Minutes of Maxton 21 Meeting held on Monday 17th December 2012
Present:
Jimmy, Janet, Charlie, Elvira, Isobel, Priscilla and Tom.

Apologies: Felicity and Douglas.

Previous Minutes:
Accepted as an accurate record of the meeting of 29th October 2012.

Treasurer’s Report:
Isobel presented a statement of accounts showing that the current total is £5301.56. Arrangements to be made for handover of cheque to our “Charity for 2012”.
With the end of our financial year approaching, she intends having everything up to date and with the auditor in good time for the AGM.

Past Events:
Charity Coffee Morning and Craft Fair.
St Boswells Brownies and Guides Coffee Morning was in competition, but our turnout was good. Thanks to all who supported the event and who donated prizes to the raffle. Thanks to the Craft Stallholders who made the event even more worthwhile. The final total raised for the Maxton 21 “Charity for 2012” the Margaret Kerr Palliative Care Unit was £244.11.
Maxton meets Alastair Innes: Excellent and very interesting talk with superb photographs.
Good turn out and much appreciated. Thanks to Alastair.

Future Events:
Sunday 23rd December Carol Singing in Maxton Village. Usual arrangements as detailed in the distributed card.
Monday 31st December Hogmanay Ceilidh. The Maxton 21 Ceilidh has been cancelled, but a member of the community has shown an interest in having a private event and is currently trying to raise interest. Maxton 21 will treat this as a normal request for a let by a local and charge accordingly when contact is made.
Monday 7th January Maxton Meets Bobby Douglas
7.30pm in Maxton Village Hall
Saturday 2nd February Burns Supper
Speakers arranged:
Address to the Haggis – Thomson Irvine; Selkirk Grace – Elvira Denoon; Immortal Memory – Grant Lees; Toast to the Lasses – Barry Cash; Reply – Trudy Cash; Entertainers and Musicians – Derek Inglis with Joyce Tinlin and Stuart Anderson.
Catering Arrangements:
Charlie to purchase and prepare Haggis and Cheese and Biscuits.
Ask Thomson to arrange to get the Hot Box.
Jimmy will provide a pan of soup.
Priscilla – Haggis for address. Vegetarian Haggis ?
Tatties and Neeps – cooking to be finalised, depending on people being available.

Provisional Dates
AGM - Monday 25th March 2013
Coffee Morning for Hall Funds – Saturday 18th May 2013.

Hall Report:
Gas heaters have been serviced.
PAT testing being arranged with Keith Braithwaite.
Public Performance Licences paid.
Cleaning arrangements seem a bit haphazard, Jimmy to meet with the group.

Web Site:
Nothing to report.

Neighbourhood Watch:
Insecure property reported to Co-ordinatot and Police informed. Matter dealt with satisfactorily.

HMS MAXTON:
Christmas Greetings from Dave, Bill and Joe.
