Last evening, Maxton Meets was treated to a fascinating and informative trip around the four Border Abbeys in the hands of a man who had helped to make two of them what they are today. Over the years, Rowley has been involved in the redevelopment of the facilities and landscape of both Jedburgh and Dryburgh Abbeys to make them the fine visitor attractions they are today.
We thank him for giving us an insight into the lives of the men who lived in the abbeys and for trying to make clear to us the basic differences in the lives of the members of the four Orders involved.
