In the third of this year's series of talks, Dr Cath Livingstone gave an illustrated talk entitled "A Doctor in Afghanistan" about her experiences as a Territorial Army Doctor in the front line.
In "normal" life she is an A&E Consultant and Anaesthetist at the Borders General Hospital, but she also a Major in the RAMC(V)who has done two month secondments to the Military Field Hospital at Camp Bastion.
She was able to provide the large audience with a fascinating and informative insight into the trials and tribulations facing our soldiers in Afghanistan, and the amazing level of skill and care which can be provided when needed. She also let the group see Afghan life through the eyes of a western lady doctor.
Our thanks to Cath for an excellent and informative talk.
