Minutes of Maxton 21 Meeting held on Monday 7th November 2011

Accepted as an accurate record of the meeting of 3rd October 2011.
Accounts stand at £9033.00 with £599.20 as Charity Fund.
Concern over the cost of gas our bills have gone up over 60%, while electricity is only 18% up.
Country & Western Night cancelled due to lack of interest.
Maxton meets Isabel Gordon excellent talk to an audience of 30. Thanks to Isabel.
Monday 14th November Maxton meets Dr Cath Livingstone. 7.30pm in Maxton Village Hall.
Friday 25th November Gaelic in the Borders Ceilidh and Cake. Open to all to join the Small Hall Band and friends. Tea/Coffee and cake will be served. (Non-members entrance fee £3) Raffle prizes welcome.
Sunday 11th December Festive Get-together for Maxton Parish Residents. Maxton Village Hall at 3pm. Festive cheer and nibbles. All ages welcome.
Sunday 18th December Maxton Carol Singing meet in Car Park at 6.30pm. Bring torch or lantern. Carol sheets provided. Clothing appropriate to weather and occasion. Collection to Maxton 21 Charity for 2011 "Jumbulance".
Saturday 31st December - Hogmanay Ceilidh usual arrangements.
Monday 9th January 2012 Maxton Meets Jake Harvey. 7.30pm in Maxton Village Hall.
Saturday 21st January Maxton Burns Supper with Derek Inglis and friends. Details later.
Joiner to start work on kitchen on Monday 21st November.
Kitchen to be cleared on Friday 18th meet at 2pm. Need for boxes and/or crates to pack cupboard contents.
Waste bins now replaced in toilets.
Saga of the water charges still continuing. Letter from Scottish Water chief to say he has nothing to do with Business Stream.
New update system "Safe and Secure" to give reports from Police, Neighbourhood Watch and Community Wardens a higher profile.
