In the second of this year's series of talks, Maxton Meets – Isabel Gordon who will give an illustrated talk "The Scholar, the Wizard and the Seer".
13th century Scotland through the eyes of Duns Scotus, Michael Scott and Thomas the Rhymer.
Monday November 14th 2011
In the third of this year's series of talks, Dr Cath Livingstone will give an illustrated talk entitled "A Doctor in Afghanistan" about her experiences as a Territorial Army Doctor in the front line.
Monday January 9th 2012
In the fourth of this year's series of talks, Jake Harvey, Emeritus Professor and former Head of Sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art, will give an illustrated talk about his recent "International Stone Project".
Monday February 13th 2012
In the fifth of this year's series of talks, Rowley Duncan, Historic Scotland Monument Manager, will give an illustrated talk on "The Border Abbeys".
Monday March 12th 2012
In the sixth and last of this year's series of talks, Kate Warner of Border Thyme, will advise us on ways of attracting and supporting wildlife in our gardens.
All meetings are held in Maxton Village Hall at 7.30pm.
