Minutes of Maxton 21 Meeting held on Tuesday 15th December 2009

Present: Isobel, Thomson, Jimmy, Eileen, Charlie, Priscilla & Douglas.

Previous Minutes
The minutes of the last meeting of Maxton 21 held on 13th October 2009 were accepted as being an accurate record.

Treasurer's Report
Isobel reported that funds stood at 6828 with some income to be received from lets.
The Charity part stands at 372.50. Arrangements will be made for the handing over of the cheque to BANG after the Carol Singing is over, and a final total is available.

Past Events
Parish Get together. A pleasant afternoon with a dozen in attendance.

Future Events
Maxton Village Carol Singing

Sunday 20th December.
Meet at the Car park at 6.30pm.
Bring Torch or lantern. Carol sheets provided.
Dress appropriate to the weather and the occasion.
All monies to "Maxton 21 Charity for 2009" Borders Additional Needs Group.
All welcome.

Hogmanay Ceilidh
Catering arrangements made.
Set up on 31st December at 10am.
Raffle prizes welcome.

Maxton Meets John Rogerson
Monday January 11th 2010 at 7.30pm in Maxton Village Hall
John will give an illustrated talk entitled "Local Villages".
Admission 1.50 (inc tea/coffee and biscuits)

Burns Supper
Saturday 30th January 2010
Maxton Village Hall
7.30pm for 8pm.
Informal evening with limit of 40 tickets. Priscilla to do posters.

Catering arrangements to be finalised at the next meeting.

Hall Report
The PRS Licence has been renewed, as has the Hall Insurance.
The heater in the anteroom will be removed and the wall reinstated.

Web Site
All of the update systems have been disabled, as the way they are programmed has, apparently, made them a security risk to the new server. The risk is not acceptable to the server operator, hence the blocking off of all access. This has left Maxton 21 with a site where neither the manager or the sponsors can add, delete or edit material within the update system.
After discussion it was agreed that the Hon Sec write to Bordernet for clarification of what they intend to do, as the present situation is totally unacceptable.
