Minutes of Maxton 21 Meeting held on Monday 11th May 2009
Paul, Isobel, Thomson, Jimmy, Charlie, Elvira, Priscilla & Douglas.
The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as being an accurate record.
Isobel presented a monthly statement of monies received and paid since the last meeting.
The account currently stands at £5820.58.
She also reported on her completion of the CBAVH Condition Report 2008/9.
Thanks are recorded for the £67.52 raised by Vera and Eileen at their Table Top Sale. They have given Maxton 21 the money for inclusion in the account for the Maxton 21 Charity for 2009, BANG.
Saturday 23rd May 2009
The arrangements for the Coffee Morning and Plant Sale were confirmed. Charlie reported that Nicola from BANG will be in attendance, and that members of her group have been invited to contribute items for the Produce Stall and for the Raffle.
Suggestions for speakers are requested so that the compiling of the new programme can get under way. Ideas to Charlie asap.
Maxton Homecoming Sunday on 23rd August 2009
Plans are developing for the various exhibits etc on display.
Material on Microliths at Rutherford Farm from Jeff Parkhouse has now been added to the previous list.
Painting – Saturday 16th May at 9am for the tidying up of the toilets and passage way, and the painting of the floor.
Equipment for the new toilet area. It was agreed that additional towel and soap dispensers and sundries be purchased. Paul will deal with this.
New Tuner As the existing tuner cannot be repaired at reasonable cost, it was agreed that a new one be purchased. Paul gave details of the model envisaged and he will undertake the purchase.
Fire Action Plan and Booking Form Douglas and Paul are working on this and will bring the finished drafts to the Hall Committee when ready.
Five of the six sponsors have now paid their monies and the sixth has agreed to continue.
The site is continuing to be well visited with just on 30,000 for April.
The vandals visited again on 10th April, causing no damage except for tipping over the new planters. Police were called and made enquiries. Nothing further was forthcoming.
The Area Co-ordinator reported that the Maxton Group has joined the Association of Scottish Neighbourhood Watches and he has, personally, responded to a questionnaire from the Association regarding suggested proposals for the "Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Bill.
The latest edition of Ton Talk is now in the Hall.
