Maxton Village Hall, with 26 of an audience, was the scene of much entertainment and a true learning experience when Emma, from Floors Garden Centre took everyone on a world tour. Her topic "Plants - What's in a Name?" was a fascinating trip into Language - mainly Latin and Greek, Countries, Plant Hunters, as well as formal botanical structures and the more obvious categories such as colour and shape.
Thanks Emma for a very worthwhile evening, and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
We certainly were made to think about plants and why they are named as they are.
