Previous Minutes
The minute of the meeting of 25th August was accepted as being an accurate record.

Treasurer's Report
Difficulties over the payment of gas bills now seem to be resolved, and the gas used is being paid for by a quarterly direct debit.
With the number of local lets having risen, income for the month has exceeded expenditure.
With no outstanding bills, the balance in the bank stands at £5027.06.

Past Events
Maxton Meets Walter Elliot – very well attended and enjoyed by all.

Future Events
Maxton Meets Grant Lees – 13th October – confirmed. Hall to be opened and set by Ron and Ann, who will also look after the refreshments. Grant will arrive c.7.05pm.
Charity Quiz Night – despite widespread advertising no requests for places have been received. It was decided to make a final decision on whether to go ahead next Monday 13th. A minimum of 22 people are need to cover the costs for the evening, before any profit is made for our Charity for 2008. If the evening goes ahead, the Charity will be approached regarding a team.
St Andrew's Night Concert – Saturday 29th November – Small Hall Band is already playing in Coldstream. Contact has been made with Kelso Folk Club and Borders Fiddle Group about the possibility of members wishing to take part in a concert. Jimmy will contact Riddell Fiddles who are thought to be fund raising for another overseas trip.
Carol Singing – not to be advertised outwith the immediate area.
Hogmanay – Steve is confirmed and the event will be advertised in What’s On etc.

Hall Report
Deep clean carried out to a high standard. Account received and paid.
Hall Committee to meet on Tuesday 14th October at 7pm to consider future improvements – particularly to kitchen area.
Painting of the new toilets facilities to be completed before any further work is considered.
Thomson, with Christine, visited the Scottish Parliament with the group representing The Bridge. Impressed by the building and The Bridge held their AGM in the Parliament Chamber.

Web Site
26,222 visits to the site for September – down on August but in line with expectations.
Vision 20/20 no longer have their premises at Newtown and are no longer trading under that name, so have removed links to them. They are keeping the option of a space on the site until their sponsorship expires next May, when they may return in a new guise.
