Minutes of Maxton 21 meeting held on Monday 17th March 2008

Persons Present:

Minutes of previous Meeting:
The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted without amendment

Treasurer’s Report:
Expenditure from 1st January 2008 to Monday 17th March 2008 was £595.99
Income for the same period was £1,352.20 which included a grant of £799.00 for hall refurbishment from ‘The Bridge’.
As of Monday 17th March 2008, the Maxton 21 bank account stands at £5,908.69

Past Events:
With the exception of the final ‘Maxton Meets’ talk on the 10th March 2008, there were no previous events to report.

Future Events:
St Patrick’s night – Saturday 22nd March
Set up for the night will be on Friday 21st March at 7:30pm
Paul will bring some Irish music down on CD.
Thomson will get some Whiskey & cream for Irish Coffees
Rosi & Paul will buy and cook a ham and buy cheeses. Rosi will also make some soda bread
Jimmy will buy Oatcakes
Priscilla will cook the carrots
Eileen & Isobel agreed to cook the potatoes & cabbage.
The events for the evening include a quiz and limerick competition.

The coffee morning in May will be discussed at the next meeting.

Real Time Concert – Saturday 10th May 2008
The Real Time concert has been confirmed for Saturday 10th May 2008. Tickets will be £8/£5 concessions.
Isobel has been provided with posters for the event which she will distribute with the help of members of Maxton 21

Hall Report:
As mentioned in the Treasurer’s report, we have now received a grant of £799.00 from ‘The Bridge’ to complete the works in the toilets and hall way outside the toilets. Work on these areas should start very soon.
Thanks were passed to Douglas for coordinating the application for the above funds.
The problem of condensation on the windows in the toilet areas is still being looked at by the council.
There will be a meeting of the Hall Committee on Tuesday 26th March 2008 in the village hall at 7:30pm

Web Site:
Charlie will soon be approaching the current sponsors of the Maxton website to see if they are still happy to continue their support.

Neighbourhood Watch:
Nothing to report other than what was reported in the AGM

HMS Maxton:
Nothing to report other than what was reported at the AGM

Date of next meeting:
The next meeting of Maxton 21 will take place in the Village Hall on Monday 28th April 2008 at 7:30pm. All members of the parish are welcome to attend.
