A small turnout, but once again enjoyed by all who attended.

31st December Hogmanay
As usual a very good night. Praise for Steve Kendall who kept things going on the music front. Very little food was left this year which was a good sign. The cheque for BAAGS was presented to Derek Purvis. Paul has the money for Hogmanay and will pass this on to Ron for banking.

Hall Report
Douglas has received a letter from ‘Awards for All’ confirming that the application for the renovations to the toilet area has now been completed and closed. This will now allow us to make a fresh application in due course. Douglas is hoping to invite members of the Awards for All committee to the hall when they visit the region this year.
It has been noted that there seems to be a damp patch forming around the windows in the toilets where repairs were carried out by the council last year. Douglas has spoken to the head of the services department who will come down in the next few days to investigate.
Ron confirmed that the application to the Federation of Village Halls for monies to complete the work on the toilet areas and hallway has been sent off.

Any Other Business
· Paul read out a thank you letter from Derek Purvis from BAAGS thanking Maxton 21 and it’s supporters for their fund raising during 2007. In particular, Derek was pleased to announce that due to the monies raised by the group, BAAGS was able to run three planned training events in the coming year and produce a DVD. Paul will forward the letter to Charlie to see if it can be loaded onto the website. The letter will be kept on file should anyone wish to read it.
· AGM – the Maxton 21 AGM has been set for Monday 17th March 2008.
· Paul asked if everyone could come up with prospective speakers for the Maxton Meets 07/08 season.
· Paul also asked for thought to be given for the Maxton 21 charity for 2008. Thomson suggested that as we had a few charities to choose from last year that we might look at selecting one of them. Paul will check the previous minutes to see if the other charities mentioned were noted.
· Due to copy deadlines with the ‘What’s On’ magazine it was decided to hold our spring coffee morning on Saturday 24th May 2008.
· It was also decided to hold a St. Patrick’s Night event for the parish on Saturday 15th March 2008. The Details of the night will be sorted out at the next meeting.
