Maxton Village Hogmanay 2007

Maxton Village Hogmanay 2007

A crowd of nearly sixty gathered in the village hall on Monday night for the annual Hogmanay celebrations. With the accompaniment of Steve Kendall, the revellers twirled and waltzed the night away and toasted in the New Year at midnight with a glass or two of bubbly.

During the evening, we were once again entertained by Jessica Bennett who performed four superb Scottish dances and two solo saxophone pieces. Rosi also gave us a solo song by John Denver called 'Today'.

A cheque for 371.05 was presented to Derek Purvis Chairman of BAAGS (Borders Asperger & Autism Group Support) who were the chosen charity of Maxton 21 for 2007. The actual sum raised for BAAGS was 381.05

Our thanks to Steve for providing the music, to Jessica for her superb performances, to everyone who provided an excellent supper and also to everybody involved in setting up and clearing up the hall.

Maxton 21 would like to wish everyone a very happy and peaceful 2008.

In Full swing
