Treasurer’s Report
Prior to the Treasurer’s report, Paul read out a letter received from the Treasurer stating that after 31st December 2007 he will be standing down as Treasurer of Maxton 21. The Treasurer has agreed to complete the group’s accounts up to 31st December 2007 and is willing to present the annual accounts at the AGM when a date is set. He is also willing to hand over to the new Treasurer and show that person how the accounts have been completed so far.
Also, as of the New Year, the Treasurer will not be committing to attending Maxton 21 meetings, although both he and his wife are more than willing to continue assisting at events as required, and support the development of the village hall.
The letter of resignation will be kept in the Maxton 21 folder and can be seen upon request.

As of 5th October 2007 the balance in the Maxton 21 Village Hall account stands at £5,062.60. The total takes into account the final payment of £4,982.00 for the building works which has now been paid.

Past Events

· 8th October – Maxton Meets Julian Goodacre. A very good turn out and a very good talk. People are still talking about the night as to how much they enjoyed it.

Hall Report
Douglas reported that the ‘Awards for All’ documentation for the completion of building works has been completed.
Further to the completion of the toilets and outside ramp refurbishment, some additional work is now required to finish off the area around the corridor and toilets. Estimates for additional lighting in the toilets, the moving of a cubical partition and the insulation of pipes has been received at a total cost of £680.00 +VAT. Douglas has recommended we approach the Village Hall Group to see if any funds are available. As part of the application, Maxton 21 would offer to fund the plastering of the corridor outside the toilet area and get the ceiling insulated and covered out of its own funds – a cost of £785.00. This was proposed to the group and accepted without objection.
Douglas also thanked Jimmy for painting the disabled access ramp metalwork with Hammerite. Jimmy has passed on the receipts for the paint to Paul who will get the Treasurer to write a cheque to Jimmy.

The web site is still receiving a good hit rate, although it is slowing down a little as expected as we draw into winter. Last month we received 12,977 hits, accessing some 15,550 pages.
