Minutes of Maxton 21 Meeting held on Monday 3rd September 2007 in the Village Hall.

Minutes of last Meeting:
No amendments.

Treasurers’ Report:
As of the 2nd September 2007, the balance of bank accounts stands at Ł9,542.26

Past Events:
Parish BBQ – A disappointing turnout, though enjoyed by the majority of the group and their guests. A discussion as to whether these events were still worth having in light of turnout took place. The one main suggestion was to look at the types of event we schedule for next year.

Future Events:
· Harvest Coffee Morning Saturday 6th October TBC *
Paul will make up some posters for event. Final details of setting up etc will be confirmed at October meeting. Sales Table. Date to be confirmed by Paul in case St. Boswells is holding a coffee morning on that date.
· St Andrew’s Night Friday 30th November – Details to be arranged at next meeting
· Mulled wine and mince pies afternoon – Sunday 9th December
· Village Carol Singing – Sunday 23rd December

Hall report:
Nearly all the alterations to the toilets and ramp have now been completed. There are some minor jobs still to be done. In addition to this work, other cosmetic jobs have been planned to finish this project.

Web Site:
In July the web site had over 24,000 visits and in August the figure was just over 15,000

Neighbourhood Watch:
Nothing to report. There was one unreported act of vandalism in the village

HMS Maxton:
The new Ton Talk is on the notice board

Any Other Business:
Maxton Meets
The first talk will take place on Monday 10th September with Sibylle Alexander. Paul will ask Vera to do the introductions as he and Rosi may be away. Priscilla offered to do the teas and Douglas offered to set the hall up.

Visit to Maxton by the Hasty family
Charlie received a message through the website from the Hasty family thanking the residents of Maxton for their hospitality on their recent visit. Priscilla has received a sweatshirt and two pictures.

Date of next meeting:
The next meeting of Maxton 21 will take place on Monday 1st October 2007 at 7:30pm in the village hall. All are welcome.

* note further to meeting, Paul has confirmed that coffee morning will not take place on the 6th October as there is one being held in St Boswells. Next possible date will be the 13th October, but still to be confirmed.
