Maxton Meets was honoured by the presence of Sibylle Alexander at their meeting last evening, when she treated them to fine examples of her skill as a storyteller.
Sibylle Alexander was born in Hamburg in 1925 into a family with a rich history of storytelling - an ancestor married one of the Brothers Grimm.
She developed the first free radio programme for children in Hamburg during 1945; lectures widely on Celtic themes and has published collections of stories in English and German.
She married in 1951, lives in Galashiels and has 5 children and 13 grandchildren.
Her book "Told by the Peat Fire" has been widely acclaimed.
Maxton 21 thanks Sibylle for taking the time, from an obviously busy schedule, to come and take part in out winter programme of talks.
