Maxton 21 Burns Supper 2007

Last evening, the annual Burns Supper was held in Maxton Village Hall. It was a particular pleasure to welcome a group of four Swedes to our celebration, and to give them some insight into the Bard and his work.
After the Selkirk Grace given by Rev Bruce Neill, Minister of the Parish, Thomson gave the Address to the Haggis, Douglas the Immortal Memory and Tom and Isobel the Toast to the Lassies and response.
After the formal part of the evening, a party ensued with song and recitation into which the visitors contributed with two Swedish songs.
Thanks to all who contributed in any way to making the evening a very enjoyable event.
