Maxton Parish Barbecue

An overcast afternoon didn't dampen the spirits as Maxton 21 held its Parish BBQ in the village hall grounds yesterday.

Varying wind conditions made kite flying a challenge, but was enjoyed by the spectators present. Our thanks to Tim Millard for coming along with such a wide range of kites.

Despite thickening cloud, the rain held off enabling head chef Tom to stay dry for a change whilst cooking the food. Once cooking duties were over Tom and Isobel held an American theme quiz in recognition of our links to Maxton, North Carolina and the American 4th July celebrations. Their hard work was much appreciated.

As always, a big thanks to everyone who provided food for the day and helped set up the event.
