Maxton Burns Supper 2005

Last evening saw 44 people enjoying the annual Maxton Burns Supper.

The haggis, carried by Paul, was piped in by Sandy, and addressed by Thomson.

After the meal, Douglas gave the Immortal Memory, a fascinating insight into the Social Life of Edinburgh at the times when Burns visited; Tom "sang the praises" of the Lassies to which Isobel replied.

Thereafter, the evening went on in a light-hearted vein with singing, and humour.

Particular thanks to Sandy who had come all the way from Walkerburn to give us the benefit of his playing of the multitude of instruments he had brought with him - blown and fingered, and to all the others who read, sang and played to make the evening the great fun it was.
