Maxton Parish Noticeboard

Hogmanay 2004 at Maxton Village Hall

A full house at Maxton Village Hall saw in the New Year to the music of Steve Kendal.

At the start of the evening, Jacqui Ramage, Treasurer of Maxton 21, handed over a cheque to Dawn Platt representing the Multiple Sclerosis Society ( Borders Branch) for the sum of 326.25. The Borders MS Society was the Maxton 21 "Charity of the Year 2004" and the money was raised at events in the Parish throughout the year.

Thanks for the evening go to the other performers, Jessica Bennett, Tom Veitch and the cast of the pantomime "Rudolph goes Walkabout", subtitled "Santa Blew a Gasket".

Thanks also to all who contributed in any way to the organisation of the evening, providing food, providing raffle prizes etc.

At the bells, all present joined in a silence in memory of those who have lost their lives in the Indian Ocean Disaster.
