Minutes of Brief Maxton and Mertoun Community Council following the AGM Thursday 9th October 2008

Introduction:
Andrew explained there were a few matters that required to be dealt with this evening before he closed the meeting, they are as follows:

1. Dates for meetings to be held during our brief 2008 – 09 year before we close the accounts for an early AGM to allow the accounts to be closed on 31st March 2009
2. Set dates for the following year.
3. Deal with any outstanding Mail
4. Deal with any outstanding issues from the meeting held on the 28th August 2008.

Dates of Meetings November 2008 to 31st March 2009:
Thursday 27th November 2008
No Meeting in December 2008
Thursday 29th January 2009
Thursday 26th February 2009
Thursday 26th March 2009
AGM for 2008-09 will be held on Thursday 23rd of April 2009

New Financial Years Meetings as follows:
Thursday 28th May 2009
Thursday 25th June 2009
No Meeting in July 2009
Thursday 27th August 2009
Thursday 24th September 2009
Thursday 29th October 2009
Thursday 26th November 2009
No Meeting in December 2009
All dates leading up-to and including the 2010 AGM will be arranged later in 2009

All outstanding mail had been dealt with… no further action required.

Football nets requested by the young people of Maxton… Andrew will look into net prices and e-mail Len Wyse to establish any health and safety issues that may arise from the purchase and installation of these items.

Work carried out at the end of the vennel between the cottages Glebe View and Maple Cottage appears to have worked, however a note of caution should be made that no heavy rain had taken place at the time of the meeting.

Placement of flower tubs, this will be pursued Ann.

AOCB.
Both members of the public present and Community Councillors expressed concern that we have still not heard if we are to get Green Bins for garden refuge. It has been noted that it is increasingly difficult for people in the village to composed hard wood cuttings and some weeds unsuitable for composting. This matter will be taken up with the Len Wyse at the next meeting.
